Flies In The Village

Have you suffered from an increase in flies. Following work between the Council, North East Lincolmshire Counciland the Ward Councillors Ryepower have issued the following statement:

Flies in the village.

To everyone in Great Coates and the surrounding area – we have received some calls from locals regarding the fly issue which has cropped up with the warm weather. This is completely understandable, and as one of the waste processors in the area we apologize for any contribution our site has made to the issue.

It was unfortunate that coronavirus and reduced staffing occurred during unseasonably hot weather, however please be reassured your concerns have been duly noted, and an action plan put in to place. We have stepped up our spraying from once per week to three times per week, with added spraying of the flies at larval stage, as well as fumigating of inbound loads. For our own part, you will see an immediate drop in the incidence of flies in the area.

Please feel free to get in touch with us via phone or email (below) if you would like to discuss our pest control measures, or any thoughts, suggestions, or concerns. As a recycling facility we are here to serve you as a community, and we would like to ensure residents are happy with our service. Once the COVID-19 issue subsides, we will look to arrange open days where locals can come along and gain a better understanding of our processes if they wish.
